BENEFITS OF INSTALLING HARDWOOD FLOORS
Hardwood flooring is a great choice with long-lasting benefits, such as:
Easy to clean and minimal maintenance: They are significantly more stain-resistant than carpets.
Strong and durable: Hardwood floors can last for decades if cared for properly.
Better air quality: Unlike carpet flooring, hardwood floors do not trap dust, animal dander and other common allergens.
Adds value to your home: If you’re selling your home, buyers will pay more for the home with hardwood floors than most other types of flooring
Improves the acoustics in your room: They reduce hollow sounds and vibrations that occur often.
Easy to repair when damaged: You can easily replace one or a few damaged planks instead of replacing the entire flooring.
Complements almost every design theme: Hardwood floors are available in a wide range of colours, shades and finishes that can add character and enhance your interiors, no matter the theme or colour scheme.
**Cost-effective: Hardwood may be an expensive initial investment, over time with minimal cleaning or repair costs and their durability, it will save you money.
HOW TO MAINTAIN HARDWOOD FLOORS
Regular maintenance of your hardwood floors will help them last for several years and even decades. Here are some tips:
Clean up spills immediately with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
Dry sweep and dust regularly to remove dust and dirt from the carpets. Don’t use wet or steam mops that will damage the finish.
Avoid sliding furniture on hardwood floors to prevent damages.
Clean with recommended wood flooring cleaner at least once every month.

ENGINEERED HARDWOOD
Engineered Hardwood has risen significantly in popularity as a flooring choice for homes and businesses because of the new width sizes it offers now.
Engineered Hardwood uses a layer of real hardwood on top which is bonded to a plywood core. This gives you the look and feel of a real hardwood floor and with the plywood core you get the stability needed when you go into the wider boards. Calgary’s climate is a much drier climate than most and with our Chinooks in the winter time our humidity levels can fluctuate dramatically which means a solid hardwood in widths wider than 4” is not recommended.
One of the biggest benefits of an engineered hardwood though, is the ability to be installed below grade or on concrete subfloors due to the flexibility of installation options which means you can have the same floor in your basement too!
